Gray Gate Farms LLC

At Gray Gate Farms LLC we seek connection between horse and rider and work towards improving our riding skills. Owner and Trainer Jenny welhouse believes horses will go above and beyond for you if you give clear and kind instructions. In lessons and training rides Jenny looks for subtle cues between horse and rider to see whats best suited for both, so each can understand each other better. Jenny believes that every horses personality gives guidance on what will help them perform best for their riders, and it’s the riders job to also learn the horse so they can better translate to each other so they can both give there best.

In riding and teaching, Jenny pays attention to the biomechanic correctness of the horse - how their bodies are placed, and how their energy is used in order to keep them in top shape Jenny believes that horses are athletes and have to be treated as such to minimize musculoskeletal strain, in effect riding for soundness as well as performance. Teaching riders to feel and seek this gives them a better understanding and sensitive feel, and makes for healthier, sounder, and happier horses.
